Just post it

Can't...keep...up...I have too many pictures to edit!  One post a month is not going to cut it for this "scrapbook" of mine.  I need to get over my picture editing addiction and just post away.  So here we go...
4 days in Tahoe with my sisters...unedited.

Fun is...

Staying in a hotel room with your cousins

lounge chair surfin'

posing on a rooftop

three year old cousins
playing tag on a rooftop...unless you are Sam and you have a bad cough
hangin with your teddy
takin over the rooftop
football on the beach
snow on the mountains in late June
playing in the water
getting warm on the hot sand
cold water on a hot day
naps on Aunt Megan
a beer on the beach
playing in the big afternoon waves
trying to out run the wave
letting the wave get you
letter boxing
leaving our mark on the hidden treasure
getting the kids their own table for our last dinner with the cousins.

We had so much fun with our cousins it was hard to say goodbye.
Lucky for us we had another 4 days to spend in Tahoe with more friends.
To be continued...

What happened to June?!

I can't believe over a month has passed since my last post.  All of June...poof!...gone in an instant!  I feel like my mom was just here...but here we are in July.  Not sure how it happened.  I do know that somehow most of June I was not on my computer, or on Facebook, or even checking emails much really.  I guess it is a good sign that we were too busy having fun.

The first week of June, Sam turned six.  We celebrated by bringing his best buddy, Ben and Ben's little brother Billy to Legoland for the day.

A few weeks later, Sam completed his first official year of school.
I predict good things for my boy who loves to learn!

In mid June, Keith's parents accompanied us for an adult night out in
San Diego to see my latest favorite singer/songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov.
Patrick Park opened up for him and he was pretty impressive too...
but Gregory is for sure my current favorite.
It was at a hipster coffee shop/recording studio and it was so small and intimate and I am much too nerdy of a mom to be hangin' at a place like this but I enjoyed every minute of it.  Add the delicious and unique pizza we enjoyed before the show to the enlightening conversation we had with the pizza creator who escaped from Afghanistan in the 80's and it was quite a welcome break from our usual routine.

We tried to celebrate Father's Day but that day turned into a bust when the stomach flu reared it's ugly head in the middle of the day, 15 minutes before one of my best friends arrived for a visit.  Jen was brave and came anyway, since they had just spent 8 hours in the car getting here.  I quickly disinfected every hard surface in the house but apparently that didn't help.  Three days later, Ethan and I joined the Puke Fest 2010.  Luckily it came and went quickly.  We shared our flu bug and they let us borrow a cough/cold from Lucas.  And we still had a great week...germs and all!

We wrapped up the month by meeting up with my sisters and their families in Lake Tahoe.  We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday, enjoyed the beach and the time with family.

Poof!  That is June in a nutshell.  I feel like we are in a time warp.
How are we already a week into July???!
Sam's Summer is over August 16th. Time...please slow down!
